Feeding Time With Transient Orca Whales (June 16, 2013)

It’s not everyday that we get to see the Transient Orca whales, but for guests aboard today’s whale watch we got a great look and the whales were here to impress. As the captain eased the boat on scene, the whales were reluctant, but as the time passed it got a bit more interesting. With some unlucky seals in the water, the transients had food on their minds and after a few moments they were rolling on the surface and breaching. Lunch was had by both the whales and the passengers as we got to watch them actively feast. With their bellies full and the waters stained a little more red, these Transients swam off in search of more food while the Victoria Star 2 made its way around beautiful Turn Island and cruised into Friday Harbor.
