Typically Orca whale sightings start to taper off in the San Juan Islands as we enter September, but perhaps due to the strong salmon run in the area, they seem to be sticking around. As a result we’ve been seeing Orca whales every day on our whale watching trips over the last week or so. Yesterday we viewed two of the local pods (J & L) just off Kellett Bluff on San Juan Island.
