It was a great day for whale watching in the San Juan Islands! We normally pick a route in the morning, on the way to Friday Harbor, that has the best chance for seeing Orca whales. Well, we did that, finding a group just off the west side of San Juan Island. After watching them for about 45 minutes we made our way to Friday Harbor for our 2 hour shore visit. Then, on our way back to Bellingham, we saw them again – just a few minutes outside Friday Harbor! We’ll be going back out today, then start our daily whale watches on May 27th.
