Whales & Wildlife Report – May 11, 2013

It was a bright, beautiful day in the San Juans yesterday. After hearing a few reports from our spotting network, we headed north towards Sucia and Patos Islands. Although we searched and searched, we were unable to find whales. However, we did see LOTS of other wildlife, including seals, Bald eagles, Stellar sea lions and porpoises, plus a wide variety of animals on Speiden Island (in the 70’s the island was used for big game hunting, with animals imported from throughout the world. That only lasted for a short time, but many of the species of animals imported still live on the island today). Since we didn’t find whales we gave all of our passengers “bummer cards”, which can be used for 50% off a future Whale Watching Adventure cruise with us.
