Whale & Wildlife Report – Minke Mornings

By no means does a successful trip on board the Victoria Star 2, have to include orca whales. Especially when the sun is bright and the water is lake calm. We made our trek to Salmon Bank which is on the south San Juan Island and about a mile south of the marker we managed to catch up with two minke whales. One was fairly cooperative and gave us many chances to see him as he fed in the shallow waters.

We also got a Chance to swing over to an area called Whale Rocks and get some great looks at about a dozen Steller Sea Lions. The remainder of the day was as beautiful as can be, and our evening Chuckanut Bay Crab cruise was equally so.
