San Juan Cruises / Whales & Wildlife Report – 6/11/2011

Another great cruise today, with resident Orca whales (J-pod) viewed by our passengers SW of San Juan Island. It’s been a nice day, with clouds and fog giving way to blue skies on our return trip through the islands back to Bellingham.

The whales were back on Friday! They were too far out of our range to reach the past few days, but on Friday our passengers witnessed an active J-pod of Orca whales jumping and spy-hopping just to the northwest of San Juan Island. We were able to spend a good amount of time with them,… Continue reading San Juan Cruises / Whales & Wildlife Report – 6/10/2011

Sunday was another great day in the San Juan Islands, with glassy smooth waters most of the day. San Juan Islands / Whale Watching Report – 5/15/2011

The weather could have been better – it was a rainy, foggy day out on the water (calm though – winds were light). However, that didn’t matter much when we were treated to the sight of Minke Whales at Salmon Bank (west of San Juan Islands) and later, Orca Whales (J-Pod). They were breaching, splashing,… Continue reading San Juan Islands / Whale Watching Report – 5/15/2011
