L-Pod has a new member, L-116, born to Kasakta (L-82). It was sighted just off the west side of San Juan Island recently. Four Resident Orca Calves Receive Names

Whale Sightings – Friday August 27th
Yesterday (Friday) we spotted a group of transient Orca whales just off Waldron Island, the found a Minke whale near Flattop Island. We’ll be out there again today, looking for whales on our whale watching trips from Friday Harbor, as well as our tours to/from Victoria, BC

A new baby was born in L-Pod – L-47 (Marina) recently gave birth to Orca baby L-115. Our captain got this great shot of mother and child on one of our recent trips to Victoria.
