Whale Sightings – Friday August 27th
Yesterday (Friday) we spotted a group of transient Orca whales just off Waldron Island, the found a Minke whale near Flattop Island. We’ll be out there again today, looking for whales on our whale watching trips from Friday Harbor, as well as our tours to/from Victoria, BC

A new baby was born in L-Pod – L-47 (Marina) recently gave birth to Orca baby L-115. Our captain got this great shot of mother and child on one of our recent trips to Victoria.

Orcas From All 3 Local Pods Spotted Yesterday (8/18)
Yesterday we were lucky enough to spot members of all three local pods of Orca whales (J, K and L pods). They were seen just to the west of San Juan Island (Salmon Bank). We’ll be back out today aboard the Victoria Star and Island Commuter 2.

Orca Whales Spotted West Of San Juan Island (7/18)
Both of our vessels, the Island Commuter 2 and the Victoria Star 2, found two pods of Orca whales on Sunday (7/18). J pod and L pod were traveling together off the west side of San Juan Island, between Kellett Bluff and Salmon Bank.
